The EDGE Consortium: education group for diversification and growth in engineering

About Us

The EDGE Consortium

We are women presidents and deans of the nation’s leading research universities and schools of engineering, working collaboratively to transform semiconductor-related education to be more accessible and aligned with industry workforce needs. The EDGE Consortium recognizes that the goals of the CHIPS and Science Act – to boost US competitiveness, innovation and national security in the global semiconductor landscape – won’t be achieved unless historically marginalized groups are included from the start, so we are committed to doubling the number of industry-ready women and people of color for semiconductor-related careers.

There's room for everybody in STEM.

The CHIPS and Science Act can only deliver on its promise to strengthen the US semiconductor industry by significantly growing and diversifying our engineering workforce. The EDGE Consortium knows that there’s room for everyone in STEM, and we commit to making sure the career pathways needed to get there — no matter where you’re starting from — are within reach.
